Policies

This policy outlines the SA Government agencies and bodies that are required to adhere to Government Policies, Standards, Procedures and Notifications on Information Technology.

Agencies seeking exemption from government ICT policies or standards must advise the Chief Technology Officer prior to undertaking investigation of alternatives, and must obtain approval for exemption prior to implementing alternate solutions.

Ownership of software developed by a contractor for Government use need only be considered where the software is core to the business of an Agency and it needs the ability to change the software in the future to reflect legislative, administrative or policy changes.

Agencies must publish guidelines specifying appropriate codes of conduct to protect the Government from illegal, unethical and inappropriate communications by its employees.


Standards

The purpose of this document is to advise agencies of the process for requesting an exemption from implementation or usage of whole-of-government ICT applications.


Guidelines

The Application Guideline provides the steps, required when seeking exemption from an ICT Infrastructure contract. Also outlined is the appeal process to follow if the original application is rejected.
